A senior spokesperson for Monaghan Fire and Civil Protection confirmed that the service received an emergency callout on Saturday evening, January 14th at 7.53pm, regarding a house fire at a single-storey cottage in the Lisinisky, Cortober area of Bawn. Two fire crews from Ballybay and Carrickmacross attended the scene and extinguished the fire aided by the use of breathing apparatus. Gardaí are investigating the cause of the fire.
