Monaghan is amongst 12 researchers awarded a total of €11.8 million from the Irish Research Council for worldclass frontier research. Lorraine O’Driscoll from Smithborough, Co Monaghan, a Professor in Pharmacology at Trinity College Dublin, has received funding for her research into extracellular vesicles in cancer. The EVIC project will examine extracellular vesicles (EVs) – tiny particles that are released from cancer cells into the bloodstream.
