Bishop Larry Duffy, the Bishop of Clogher, has invited people to join in marking the Easter Triduum 2019. In a special message, he said: ‘A parish priest was once heard to say on Palm Sunday, “This week we pray with our feet.” It was his way of inviting people to walk in the footsteps of the Master, moving step by step, scene by scene from the upper room to the open tomb.

‘As feet are washed on Holy Thursday we hear and ponder Jesus’ call to be a good and caring neighbour by serving family and community. ‘On Good Friday, our veneration of the wood of the cross is our response to the generosity of the Father who so loved the world that he gave his only Son who died for us so that we might live. Saturday is a time of quiet and prayerful waiting with Mary who has lost her beloved son; a day to remember our departed ones.

‘The Easter Vigil joyfully celebrates liberation, resurrection and new life. Christ, our light, the new Moses, leads his people to freedom; to victory over sins and death. Through our baptism…
