CONNOLLY CALLS FOR VOLUNTARY BAN ON ELECTION POSTERS

Independent Councillor Paudge Connolly has expressed his dismay with colleagues in Monaghan Municipal District after they did not back his proposal to institute a voluntary code of ‘no election posters’ for next month’s local election.

Speaking to The Northern Standard after Monday’s meeting of Monaghan MD, Cllr Connolly stated that “I’m disappointed that none of my councillor colleagues seconded nor indeed supported my motion proposing a voluntary ‘no election posters’ code for the forthcoming local election on May 24th.
