It was announced on Saturday morning last that Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Liam MacDaid as Bishop of Clogher due to ill health. Ordained in July 2010 as successor to Joseph Duffy, Bishop MacDaid has been suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Three Monaghan people have been lauded as heroes after they saved four teenage girls from drowning in Donegal last weekend.
