Artist Vincent Devine (pictured above) created the triptych artwork of Vicky Phelan, which was exhibited in St. Joseph’s Pastoral Centre last weekend. The artist is a conceptual painter and described the work as a collaboration between himself and the late CervicalCheck campaigner. The setting is Doonbeg beach in County Clare, Vicky’s favourite place. The three canvas painting represented Vicky’s past, present and future. Funding of €16,222,270 has been allocated to Monaghan Co Council to invest in the maintenance and strengthening of regional and local roads in 2023, it was announced this week. By Veronica Corr Yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon, Monaghan County Council and Gyproc, on foot of a request from this newspaper, both issued statements following the discovery of a hole on private land by a Drumgossatt landowner. The landowner is understood to have contacted the relevant authorities. The road was closed after the subsidence event in September 2018 and local residents expressed concerns that it could be happening again.
