The body of a 70-year-old Co Tyrone man was found during a search operation in Glaslough on Monday last. It is understood that 70-year-old Ivan Vaughan, a well-known music performer from the Caledon area, was returning home from a weekend engagement in Glaslough when his car encountered heavy flooding on a minor road and became stranded. On Sunday in national tidy towns award winning Glaslough Village the Glaslough Harriers and Mc Aree family hosted the second Duathlon in honour of their son Kieran Mc Aree. There was great excitement in the village of Glaslough on Saturday evening last as huge crowds came out to celebrate a special event which marked fifty years of Glaslough’s participation in the National Tidy Towns Competition.
