PETER MC KENNA RAISES €8000 FOR CHARITIES OF HIS CHOICE – TYDAVNET FAITH AND LIGHT AND GLASLOUGH HARRIERS

Peter McKenna, from Doogary, is well known in athletic circles both as a competitor and organiser. As a member of Glaslough Harriers for over 40 years, he has been a central figure over the last few years in the masters and senior running categories representing both club and county. In Barcelona on Sunday, October 4th 2015,Peter completed his Ironman challenge.

This enabled Peter and his family and friends to donate this considerable sum of money to these two deserving charities, through a series of fundraisers that were held over the course of the year. Peter was engaged in his training yet he still found time to get support for these fundraisers.

At Peter’s launch night, Tom Horan of Manor Farm Irish Chicken, made a commitment that the company would act as the main sponsors for Peter’s challenge.

Peter held four main events starting with a car wash at Peadar Mc Gee’s Mushroom Farm in Emyvale. This was well supported by family and friends to kick off the fundraising and give Peter encouragement to continue his endurance training. Three other …
