Michael Fisher Cavan-based building products giant Kingspan has withdrawn its week-old “sustainability and sponsorship” deal with the Formula One Mercedes Petronas racing team whose lead driver is Lewis Hamilton. The Irish Hospital Consultants Association (IHCA) has warned that the ongoing shortage of consultants across many specialities in the north-east is restricting patients from accessing timely, highquality medical and surgical care and is “contributing massively” to growing waiting lists. The Department of Agriculture yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon confirmed a third outbreak of Avian Influenza H5N1 in commercial poultry in Co Monaghan. The latest bird flu outbreak was detected in an egg-laying flock in the Castleblayney area.
