CENSUS REVEALS 5.6% INCREASE IN CO MONAGHAN POPULATION

Co Monaghan’s population has risen by 5.6% over the last six years, preliminary results from Census 2022 have disclosed. The county’s population on April 3 this year was recorded at 64,832, comprising 32,171 females and 32,661 males, an increase of 3,446 since 2016. The natural increase of births minus deaths was 2,093, with the remaining increase of 1,353 attributed to net inward migration. The total housing stock in Co Monaghan in April 2022 was 26,548.
