Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD has today (Thursday) announced almost €464,000 in funding for outdoor projects in Monaghan. In a major investment in outdoor amenities in the county, some €200,000 will be spent on the Ballybay trail networks. A further €200,000 will be invested in the Dromore Greenway and almost €64,000 will be spent on the Lough na Glack to Ardee Road Walking Trail in Carrickmacross. Conroy Gold and Natural Resources announced this week that it is pursuing a joint venture with Turkish mining company Demir to develop its gold exploration project in the Border region, including its prospect at Clontibret in Co Monaghan.
