CARRICK, BALLYBAY AND COOTEHILL OUTDOOR RECREATION PROJECTS GET MAJOR FUNDING BOOST
Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD has today (Thursday) announced almost €464,000 in funding for outdoor projects in Monaghan. In a major investment in outdoor amenities in the county, some €200,000 will be spent on the Ballybay trail networks.
A further €200,000 will be invested in the Dromore Greenway and almost €64,000 will be spent on the Lough na Glack to Ardee Road Walking Trail in Carrickmacross. The total spend is part of a €6.5 million investment nationwide under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme, which is run by Minister Humphreys’s Department of Rural and Community Development.
The Ballybay project involves the construction of a footpath connecting the existing footpath at Meadow View Estate to the entrance
