The old phrase “money from America” to describe the beneficence of Irish emigrants towards their home place had a modern manifestation at the annual New Year’s Day Run in Emyvale organised by Glaslough Harriers AC. Michael Fisher An amended plan for a wind farm in the Errigal Truagh area of north Monaghan has been refused planning permission by Monaghan County Council because it did not include a suitable survey of hen harriers in the Sliabh Beagh area carried out during the breeding season.
