A large number of Co Monaghan farmers travelled to Cavan on Friday last to take part in one of four regional rallies organised by the IFA to highlight concerns over reforms to the Common Agricultural Policy and climate change measures being contemplated by the Government which the sector fears could undermine farm viability. The Gardaí have renewed an appeal for information regarding a fatal road traffic collision on the N2. The collision occurred at Edmonstown in Co Louth shortly before 8.30 pm on the evening of September 11 this year. A motorcycle and a car collided in the vicinity of Dooley’s Pub and Restaurant. The motorcyclist, a man in his early 20s, received critical injuries and passed away on September 13. Monaghan Co Council has set a target to deliver 551 social housing units in the county between 2022 and 2025. The figure is considerably above the target of 361 houses set for the local authority by the Government under its recently announced Housing for All programme. Jennifer visited Monaghan Library last Saturday and kindly donated a copy of her first book ‘The Protector and the Legend of the Swans’, which is the first of a trilogy that Jennifer is writing. Jennifer who resides in Corcaghan, has always been fascinated by Irelands past, it’s stories and legends and from this was inspired to write a trilogy of Childrens fantasy novels.
