The McKernan family from Dernahatten, led by Sean assisted by Grainne McKernan and Ellen O’Brien, are raising funds for healthcare workers in the fight against cancer. The North East Cancer Research and Education Trust (NECRET)continue to work in the field of clinical research in order to provide high quality treatment for cancer patients.

The Northeast Oncology Unit is reliant on the generosity and support of people to maintain this essential service and indeed to develop it so that the best possible treatment is available to cancer patients who attend their department. Cancer is widespread and one never knows when it will develop and present in the body.

It is then that we can see and experience the professional and friendly staff, who help the patient through the cancer journey and we can then realise how beneficial it is to support their work. Behind the scenes there is much research and education going on all the time. New…
