A cross-Border operation involving Revenue and law enforcement personnel uncovered a plant for the manufacture of illegal diesel in the Castleshane area of Co Monaghan at the weekend. Three people were arrested at a premises in Crossmaglen, Co Armagh as part of the same investigation. In a search under warrant of a house and outbuildings at Agnaglogh, Castleshane on Friday and Saturday last, Revenue officers located a distillation plant to launder marked mineral oil. Michael Fisher Micheál Martin TD has told the Dáil he will pursue both the British and Northern Ireland authorities regarding the no-warning carbomb attack in Belturbet, Co Cavan, in which two teenage civilians were killed in December 1972. Loyalist paramilitaries were responsible for the bombing which killed Geraldine O’Reilly, aged 15, and 16 year-old Paddy Stanley.
