FUNDING SECURED FOR WETLANDS CONSERVATION AND INVASIVE SPECIES CONTROL IN CO MONAGHAN

Funding announced this week will contribute to the conservation and restoration of wetlands and the control of invasive species in Co Monaghan. The money is being provided under a biodiversity grant scheme for local authorities. In Co Monaghan, €15,980 has been secured for an Invasive Species Management Plan for Rossmore Forest Park in Monaghan Town. FIVE HOSPITALISED FOLLOWING TYHOLLAND COLLISION

Five occupants of a car involved in a collision in the Tyholland area of Monaghan on Monday last were brought to hospital for treatment. The vehicle in which the five people were travelling struck a ditch on the N12 close to Monaghan Mushrooms at approximately 7.30 pm. It was reported that one of the occupants of the vehicle was in a serious condition following the accident. The Monaghan to Armagh road was closed for a time due to the collision but has since reopened.
