A 27-year-old Romanian man was arrested after a van he was driving was involved in a number of incidents on Monaghan’s Glaslough Street and Dublin Street on Monday afternoon. The incident began when the vehicle struck a bollard and caused damage to a shop front before hitting a parked car on Glaslough Street at about 1.40pm. A District Court judge has warned the banks that he will not be granting them “large instalment orders” in cases where it is obvious that debtors cannot afford the repayments being sought.
