Last Saturday night the 19th November 440 guests attended the GAA Handball All-Star Awards in Croke Park which proved to be another resounding success at the prestigious black-tie event. Captain’s Dinner A great night was had by all at our annual Captain’s Dinner. With a large number of members and guests in attendance on Saturday night, the celebrations went extremely well for Lady Captain Margaret Treanor and Captain Michael Liddle, the celebration of a year which give them both an opportunity to make their mark for the Rossmore Club. Saturday night was the place to be when Smithboro ABC held there annual boxing show. There was no less than sixteen competitive bouts but what added flavour to the night was the six exhibition bouts from the younger members of the club that took place before the main show even started! A 33-year-old man from the Clones area who was arrested on Saturday when gardai seized herbal cannabis with a street value of €500,000 was still in custody as we went to print yesterday (Wednesday) evening.
