The HSE has this week stated that the long-promised CT scanning service has finally been established in Monaghan Hospital. Local hospital campaigners and political representatives had, for some considerable time now, been calling for the service to be put in place. The HSE said it was pleased to announce that the new CT scanning service has commenced in Monaghan from last Monday, 1st November and will operate two and a half days per week, on an “outpatient, non-urgent” basis. The recent Taste of Monaghan Festival was hailed as a great success by the members of Monaghan Town Council on Monday night. Councillors passed a vote of congratulations with the organisers of the Festival. Congratulations were also expressed to the pupils of St Macartan’s College who represented their school at a recent law event in the United States.
