A former manager of the Irish Nationwide branch in Monaghan has alleged that staff at the bank operated under a “culture of fear” while chief executive Michael Fingleton was at the helm. Mr Brendan Beggan (48) of Iterara, Scotstown, made the claim at the Employment Appeals Tribunal last week, where he is taking a case of unfair dismissal against the building society.
