The support of the rural population of Co Monaghan is being enlisted in a new campaign to combat the problem of farm-related crime. The IFA, Crimestoppers, the Gardaí and DoneDeal have joined forces to spearhead the campaign among twelve counties and address the problem of the thousands of tools, vehicles and items of farm machinery and equipment that are stolen from Irish farms each year. The Monaghan 10 & 5 Miler continues to enjoy great success following a super turn out last Sunday. Athletic clubs both locally and nationally were represented by over 600 athletes taking part on the day. Minister Humphreys Urges Local Communities to Apply Michael Fisher The government aims to publish a new Action Plan for Rural Ireland by the end of this year.
