A male pedestrian, believed to be in his 70s, was killed in a road traffic accident at Killymarley on the N2 on the outskirts of Monaghan Town yesterday, Wednesday evening. The fatality occurred at approximately 5.50 pm. Monaghan Hospital has along with Cavan General Hospital been honoured with a prestigious award for participation in an Irish Heart Foundation initiative to promote healthy dietary habits. As part of the RCSI Hospitals Group, the two medical institutions received a bronze Active@Work award for completing a self-devised, five-week health challenge supported by the Heart Foundation.
