The Gardaí have confirmed that they are now conducting a murder investigation following the death in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda on Saturday last of Mr Seamus Bell from Foxfield, Carrickmacross. The Cavan/Monaghan constituency is to receive €1,136,000 in funding over the course of two years through the Government’s Community Involvement Grant Programme, which allows a wide range of works to be undertaken on regional and local roads. The money can be accessed to carry out road surface strengthening and repair works, the repair and construction of footways, the easing of bends and the provision of passing bays.
