Second level schools throughout the county were hives of activity yesterday, Wednesday as the results of the 2018 Leaving Certificate examination were made known. More than 800 Co Monaghan young people completed the examination, with many schools reporting conspicuous academic achievement by a number of students. Conroy Gold and Natural Resources plc announced this week that they had increased the estimate of gold reserves within the company’s Clontibret, Clay Lake and Glenish gold-in-soil anomalies. Figures released recently by the RSA show that a total of 87 people died on Irish roads up to the end of July this year, with Monaghan being the only county in which there were no fatal road traffic accidents.
