Delegates at this year’s GAA Congress have backed a Tyrone County Board motion calling for the Garda report into the killing of Aidan McAnespie by a British soldier at Aughnacloy 31 years ago to be released to his family. The 23-year-old was shot dead after passing through a security checkpoint close to the border as he made his way to Aghaloo GAA grounds on February 21st 1988.
