MIGRANT ISSUES IN MONAGHAN ADDRESSED AT LCDC-DEPARTMENT MEETING

A meeting has taken place between the Co Monaghan LCDC or Local Community Development Committee and representatives of the Department of Justice to discuss facilities at the St Patrick’s Accommodation Centre for asylum seekers in Monaghan and the recent arrival of a significant number of new migrants to the county.

The following statement in relation to the meeting was issued to the Northern Standard this week on behalf of the LCDC:
Recent Monaghan LCDC meetings have focused on issues relating to migrants in the county.

In November and December 2018 issues relating to facilities at the St Patrick’s RIA Centre were discussed, in particular focusing on the recent closure of the sports hall there and its unavailability to residents, particularly ….
