Former Ireland physio Ciaran Murray has lodged papers in the High Court against the Football Association of Ireland. Murray, who was the senior chartered physiotherapist with the FAI, departed his post in April of this year after 24 years working with the Ireland team. CO MONAGHAN COMMUNITY CENTRES GET IMPROVEMENT FUNDING

Community centres and facilities in Co Monaghan are to benefit from €109,947 for essential upgrades and maintenance. Funding worth a total €5 million will be provided by the Department of Rural and Community Development’s Community Enhancement Programme and is in addition to €2 million provided earlier this year. Monaghan Sports Partnership are launching FREE 6-week guided walking programmes at Rossmore Park, Monaghan and Lough Muckno, Castleblayney. These walks will take in the beauties of nature in these fabulous local amenities, there will be some light flexibility exercises at the end of each walk. These walks are available to all adults, and all fitness levels are welcomed. ROAD ACCIDENT IN EMYVALE

The N2 Dublin to Derry Road was blocked for almost two hours following a three car collision in the main street of Emyvale close to the bridge last Thursday. It’s believed none of those involved received serious injuries but an ambulance was called to the scene. Gardaí redirected traffic that included many heavy goods vehicles travelling in both directions while an investigation was carried out. The cars involved which did not have local registration plates were later removed from the scene and the road was re-opened.

On Monday 10th August 2020, the final presentation of the Monaghan 2 Mizen Virtual Walk took place in Drumhowan. At this Noel Duffy presented 2 cheques, one each to the Irish Heart Foundation and The Acute Stroke Unit, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda as the result of a 420km virtual walk he undertook from June 1st to 20th.
