By PATSY McARDLE THE ongoing dumping of toxic sludge from laundered fuel continued in the Mid-Monaghan area last week, and again this week, sparking major fury among families who fear a threat to water sources and grasslands. Last Thursday several thousand litres of waste from “doctored” diesel fuel was dumped on a roadway at Tusker near Lough Egish, about five miles from Castleblayney. There was a jovial atmosphere at The Old Coach Inn, Castleblayney on Sunday 8th July as the town welcomed back “Spraoi” the group of 27 young, talented musicians and dancers representing Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblayney. Under the expertise of the music teacher Cara Murray, Spraoi returned from Eisteddfod International World Music Festival with three awards, including one capturing the title of first place.
