A female pedestrian in her seventies died on Main Street, Carrickmacross, last Thursday, September 27th, as a result of an incident involving a lorry at the pedestrian crossing around noon. Eileen Meegan (née McArdle), who was from Killabola, Inniskeen, was a wife, mother and grandmother. Her Requiem Mass took place at the Church of Mary Mother of Mercy, Inniskeen at 10am on Sunday morning last. Cremation took place afterwards in Lakeland’s Crematorium, Cavan. This was the first road death in County Monaghan this year to date.
