By Veronica Corr JohnJoe Cunningham, Chairman of Carrickmacross Vintage Club, spoke to The Northern Standard after last Bank Holiday Monday’s Vintage Road Run in aid of St. Mary’s Hospital, Castleblayney and Steadfast House. The club chairman and popular publican was delighted with the continued success of the annual event now in its sixth year. By Veronica Corr Feedback regarding the Carrick Emmets Strictly Come Dancing event at the Nuremore Hotel on Friday night last was universally positive, as participants had the time of their lives and spectators felt that it was a truly unique idea, which put the fun back into fundraising. The large audience weren’t disappointed as the dancers’ feet didn’t fail them, and the six weeks of rehearsals paid off. The Rotary Club of Monaghan held their Annual President’s Ball in the Four Seasons Hotel on Friday April 8th. Monaghan President, Sinead Corrigan, celebrated this years Rotary event with family, friends and fellow Rotarians from the clubs of Omagh, Navan, Enniskillen, Lisburn, Coleraine, Bangor and North Down. The Rotary District Governor of Ireland, Wes Armstrong, was also present.
