What a weekend it turned out to be for everyone associated with the Castleblayney Faughs and indeed the people of Castleblayney! On Friday night the club proudly picked up the Overall Monaghan People of the Year Award at the gala event in the Hillgrove Hotel (see separate article), while Sunday saw the club hosting its second hugely successful Castleblayney 5K. Sunday last saw the 2nd Annual Monaghan 10 Miler and 4 Mile fun runs being held, starting and finishing at the Four Seasons Hotel, and what a day it was! Over 350 participants ran or walked through the streets of Monaghan on one of the rare nice days of this summer. CANADIAN DANCERS ENJOY RETURN VISIT TO MONAGHAN
The Nelson Doyle Dancers from Canada brought an authentic burst of Canadian colour to Monaghan Town Centre on Saturday last. The famed new Brunswick dance troupe arrived in Monaghan last Thursday as part of an Irish tour organised by Marven McCarthy of Maritime Travel, Miramichi. They visited the Patrick Kavanagh Centre in Inniskeen on Thursday evening and performed in Ardaghy on Friday night.
