€148,000 has been allocated to nine organisations in co monaghan under the covid- 19 Stability Fund. The Dormant Account funding is designed to support community and voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises that are experiencing financial difficulty as a result of the pandemic. Once-off cash injections of between €2,000 and €200,000 are being awarded to qualifying organisations that provide critical services to those most vulnerable in society. Cllr Pat Treanor, laying a wreath last weekend on the grave of IRA member Owen Keenan, Corcaghan. Sunday 20th September, was 100 years from the date in 1920 that Owen Keenan died after being fatally wounded on the general raid for arms in August 1920 in which fellow Monaghan volunteers Barney Marron, Patrick McKenna and Peter O’Reilly also lost their lives.
