A motion was passed in the Stormont assembly on Tuesday evening rejecting the internal market Bill currently going through the legislative process at Westminster which would give the UK Government power to override aspects of the Withdrawal agreement on Britain’s departure from the EU, including elements of the Northern ireland Protocol. The SDLP-proposed motion was supported by Sinn Féin, the Alliance Party and the Green Party but opposed by the DUP and Ulster Unionists.
