The Bishop of Clogher Dr Liam MacDaid has made a special appeal at a Mass in Carrickroe, Emyvale, for anyone with information about Columba McVeigh, abducted and killed by the IRA in 1975 and then secretly buried, to come forward. The National Roads Authority are being requested to expedite approval and funding for a comprehensive plan of safety measures at the Shaws Corner area of Emyvale where a lorry transporting milk overturned and collided with portion of a residence around 8.30 am on Sunday morning last.
