Her older sister Sorcha, who is six-time World Champion and toured extensively with Riverdance, also holds the distinction, having completed the same exams two years ago. GARDAI are investigating a raid at the weekend on a major machinery centre at Monaghan Road, Castleblayney, in which it was estimated that close on €10,000 worth of equipment was taken. The thieves forced their way through a window to gain entry to the premises owned by Castleblayney Plant Hire Limited and used a vehicle to make their getaway with the equipment in the early hours of last Monday morning. Before handing over the chain of office to incoming Mayor Darcy Lonergan, Councillor Keelan said that his year representing the people of Carrickmacross had been an honour and a privilege. Councillor Lonergan is also the first Green Party member to take on the mayoral role in Carrickmacross. FIRE units from three Co. Monaghan towns were called yesterday (Wed) to deal with a major fire which swept through an industrial store on the outskirts of Carrickmacross. The premises, which formerly used by Barford Meats Limited, was discovered ablaze shortly after lunch-time.
