HISTORIC PIECE OF RAILWAY HERITAGE KINDLY DONATED TO GLASLOUGH VILLAGE

Saturday the 1st of February was a very poignant and special day for the Glaslough community as they received a very special gift. The gift was a beautifully restored vintage cast iron platform weighing scales, originally made by W & T Avery.

The old railway scales were restored by the late Terence McCaul (Navan and Rockcorry, County Monaghan and it was Terence’s wish that the scales be gifted to the village of Glaslough. It was a wonderful honour for the people of Glaslough to be considered and chosen by Terrance McCaul and his family as the recipient of this wonderful piece of railway heritage.
