CIVIC RECEPTION WILL MARK GLASLOUGH’S NATIONAL TIDY TOWNS ACHIEVEMENT

It was confirmed at the October meeting of Monaghan Co Council that the local authority will hold a civic reception to mark Glaslough’s national Tidy Towns victory at the Oakland Recreation Centre on Friday, November 1 next. Tributes were paid to the North Monaghan village community’s standout achievement and to other Tidy Towns-related success recorded throughout the county.

At the meeting’s outset, Cathaoirleach Seamus Coyle (Fianna Fáil) said that since the last Co Council meeting they had experienced a number of joyous occasions in the county. They had the pleasure of welcoming home the Glaslough Tidy Towns Committee and celebrating their crowning as Ireland’s Tidiest Town. “The whole Glaslough community, spearheaded by a very determined and workmanlike committee, led the county to an enormous success,” the Cathaoirleach declared, noting that Glaslough were now part of an elite group…
