RENEWED APPEAL FOR INFORMATION ON CLONTIBRET ‘HIT AND RUN’ DEATH

TRAGIC DEATH OF FINTAN TRAYNOR (20) RECALLED SIX YEARS ON

GARDAI have made a fresh appeal to the public for information regarding the tragic death of a 20-year-old man in a ‘hit and run’ incident in Clontibret, as the sixth anniversary of the incident approaches.

In the early hours of Sunday 26th June 2011, Fintan Traynor was walking home after a night out in Castleblayney when he was struck by a vehicle and fatally injured close to his home at Lemgare, Clontibret.

In a posting on their Cavan Monaghan Garda Division Facebook page this Tuesday, the gardai recall the incident and remind the public that it occurred on what is normally “a quiet country road, little used by traffic”.
