CONCERN AS “CREEPER BURGLARY”  VEHICLE THEFTS CONTINUE

Public concern is growing at the continuing incidence of “creeper burglary car thefts,” as another spate of such robberies took place over the last week.

In what appears to be a highly organised criminal enterprise, six relatively high value vehicles were taken from outside homes in the Clontibret, Castleblayney and Carrickmacross areas between last Friday and yesterday, Wednesday morning.

As reported in last week’s Northern Standard, gardai are also investigating the thefts of four vehicles that occurred over the last month in the Cootehill and Ballybay areas.

In what have been described as “made to order” incidents, the perpetrators appear to be targeting certain models of vehicles including Toyota jeeps and Audi, BMW and Mercedes cars.
