Specialist fork-lift manufacturers Combi-Lift of Clontibret have announced its intention to create 25 new jobs in Co Monaghan over the coming year.
The company say the expansion is to service significant growth in demand for its products worldwide, and particularly in Germany.
The formal announcement of the employment boost came last week during the St. Patrick’s Day visit of the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mr Richard Bruton to Germany.
Managing Director of Combi-Lift Martin McVicar said:
“Due to the current buoyancy of the German economy and the number of other Combi-Lift export markets we are looking to increase the number of our workforce from 175 to 200 in the coming year, and thereby create an extra 25 employment opportunities in the Monaghan area.
“Germany is our third largest market after the UK and the USA and the potential for sales in this major economy continues to rise. Continuous developments of new products according to the needs of the market enabled us to achieve record sales last year, and we estimate that 2011 will see a 20% increase on the 2010 figures, representing €8m worth of sales in Germany.”Enterprise Minister Richard Bruton described Combi-Lift as a prime example of a top-quality indigenous company playing a leading role in Ireland’s export-led recovery.
“Combi-Lift is an Irish manufacturing firm that, being rooted in innovation, continues to outstrip international competition, continues to manufacture in Ireland and continues to provide valuable employment in the Border region.
“I highly commend Martin McVicar and his team on their continuing success. The Government, through Enterprise Ireland, looks forward to continuing to support you as you grow into the future.”
Enterprise Ireland CEO Frank Ryan stated”
“Germany is a highly discerning market that places great emphasis on innovation and quality. Combi-Lift’s products are innovative, high quality and based on engineering excellence. With these ingredients, Combi-Lift’s has become a global leader in its field. Enterprise Ireland will continue to work closely with the company to help it continue its global success.
