By PATSY McARDLE A 48-years-old South Monaghan man, who lived for periods near Carrickmacross and also at Castleblayney, was sentenced to six-and-a- half years’ imprisonment at the Circuit Criminal Court in Dublin last Friday, for having possession of more that €2 million worth of cannabis resin, for sale or supply, at Swords Road, Santry, Dublin, on July 11th 2003. The court heard that Paul Byrne, with an address at Castleblayney, fled the country six years ago after he received a death threat when caught transporting the drugs. ...
