The second Monaghan GAA Perpetual Golf Classic will take place at Rossmore Golf Club this Saturday, May 30. The Golf Classic will once again raise money for the training fund of the county senior football team, whose win over Cavan means they are now preparing for another Ulster SFC semi-final between the winners of Sunday’s game between Fermanagh and Antrim. By PATSY McARDLE THE 56,000-plus voters in the Cavan/Monaghan constituency who went to the polls last Friday in the two Referendums gave marginal support for the Marriage Equality proposal, but overwhelmingly rejected the proposal for a reduction in the age for Presidential candidates. There was a turn-out of 57.2 per cent in the constituency which had a total electorate of 99,265. With a valid poll of 56,257 in the Marriage Equality Referendum, there were 517 spoiled votes, while the valid poll in the Presidential Age Referendum was higher, at 56,766, despite 602 spoiled ...
