HEATHER HUMPHREYS LAUNCHES HER NATIONWIDE PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN IN HER HOME COUNTY

Homegrown Irish Presidential Candidate for Fine Gael, Heather Humphreys kept it country for Saturday’s launch, her venue of choice being the iconic Monaghan Peace Campus – Tánaiste and Fine Gael Leader Simon Harris quipped that she could draw a bigger crowd than Philomena Begley as he took to the podium in the packed to capacity function room! Heather says that if elected she intends to, not only bring people to the Áras, but bring the Áras to them. She has certainly started as she means to continue, as the Fine Gael Party machine slipped into top gear for the decentralised launch.

The Fine Gael Presidential Candidate didn’t go to Dublin, rather the Oireachtas came to her with Cabinet members including: Minister for Education/Deputy Fine Gael Leader Helen McEntee; Minister for Health Dr. Jennifer Carroll MacNeill; Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe; Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport Patrick O’Donovan; Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and the Marine Martin Heydon (Fine Gael’s National Director of Elections); Minister of State at the Department of Rural and Community Development Jerry Buttimer; Minister of State at the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration Colm Brophy; Minister of State at the Department of Children, Disability and Equality Hildegarde Naughton; Deputy Micheál Carrigy, Chair of the Parliamentary Party; Senator Manus Boyle and Senator Pauric Brady, were all in attendance. Both MEPs for the Midlands-North-West Constituency Nina Carberry and Maria Walsh were delighted to support their Fine Gael colleague’s candidacy at Saturday’s launch.

Heather’s personal National Director of Elections is Paul Kehoe, a former Minister of State at the Department of Defence. Dinny….
