MONAGHAN TOWN PRIVATE PROPERTY OWNERS OFFERED GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO RETROFIT

What is being promoted as a golden opportunity for private householders and owners of business and community premises in Monaghan Town to climb on board the energy retrofit train was unveiled in the Monaghan Peace Campus last Friday. MABRI or the Monaghan Area-Based Retrofit Initiative is a regional pilot scheme focused initially in the designated Decarbonisation Zone of Monaghan Town. Monaghan Co Council and SSE Airtricity have put out an expressions of interest call and an information and recruitment event is taking place in the Peace Campus on June 5 next at 7 pm. Work starts shortly on the latest phase of the local authority’s social housing retrofit programme, with 53 Council properties in Killygoan set to have their fossil fuel heating systems replaced by heat pumps. MABRI offers private property owners in the area the chance to sign up for similar works and avail of grant support from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland as well as economies of scale and the expertise of the renewable energy players…
