CARRICK’S CHARLOTTE ‘ACES’ HER 100TH MARATHON

Charlotte McEneaney, a member of Carrick Aces Athletics Club in Carrickmacross, is a force of nature, who ran her 99th marathon on Saturday and her 100th on Sunday. She is a working single mother of two children with high levels of need. She says that running helps her to avoid overwhelm and has made many friends through the healthy pastime. She always loved running as a child, but like many young women, she stopped in her teens, focussing more on studying and working part- time. At the age of 26, she took up running again, when her daughter, who has a rare medical condition was three and her son, who has autism, was two.
