COME AND SEE … THE BIRD IN THE TREE

For one weekend only, Gwen Corrigan from Truagh will reprise her fundraising party piece from almost 30 years ago – she will spend the weekend in a tree! The last time Gwen spent the weekend in a no-frills treehouse, or birdhouse as she prefers to call it, she was in the same tree in St. Mellan’s Park. In the run-up to a landmark birthday, Gwen was asked what she would like to do to celebrate – and she responded by saying she’d like to spend the weekend in a tree again! The worthy cause Gwen is doing her ‘Come and See … The Bird in the Tree’ challenge for is Ballyoisin Church Restoration, which is currently underway.

Gwen is a great advocate of all things community and was delighted that the contractors hired to carry out the extensive works required on the chapel are from the Parish of Errigal Truagh themselves. Mass has been happening in the school hall for years and the day the community get back into their beloved Holy Family Church will be a very special one…
