MONAGHAN WOMAN IS SCHOOL BUS DRIVER OF THE YEAR
Bus Éireann, Ireland’s national bus company, has celebrated its employees’ achievements in 2024 at the regional annual GEM (‘Go the Extra Mile’) Awards, which recognise excellent customer service, community impact, performance and forwardthinking. Awards were issued in a number of different categories including Apprentice of the Year, Depot of the Year, Craftworker of the Year and several other categories including driver and community awards. Monaghan’s Caroline Linden Hughes was recognised with the prestigious “School Bus Driver of the Year” award as testament to her character, professionalism and dedication to excellent customer service.
Her managers have described her as “a dedicated driver, always going the extra mile, receiving customers with a welcoming smile and a real credit to the job.” The Bus Éireann regional awards take place across the country in October and the winners of each region will go forward to the National GEM awards on the 11 December in Dublin. Bus Éireann looks forward to the opening of the newly refurbished Limerick Bus Station and the launch of our electrified city services in 2024.
