HITMAN RETURNS

Co Monaghan boxer Stephen McKenna (PICTURED) will make a longawaited return to the ring this Saturday when he faces Englishman Joe Laws at Oakwell Stadium in Barnsley,writes COLM SHALVEY. The pair will clash for the WBC international super welterweight title on the undercard of the sold-out show, topped by the super middleweight title fight between defending champion Zak Chelli and local star Callum Simpson. McKenna returns having dispatched Darren Tetley inside six rounds at York Hall in September 2023 to continue his unbeaten run, while Laws is back in action following an upset win over Michael Hennessy Jr a month later. Stephen will be chasing his 15th consecutive win as a professional, just a couple of weeks after his brother Aaron also maintained his unbeaten record.
