235 UKRAINIANS IN HOST ACCOMMODATION IN COUNTY MONAGHAN
235 Ukrainian people displaced by the ongoing war in their country are currently living in host accommodation in Co Monaghan, statistics released this week disclosed. The 235 are accommodated in 113 host homes, representing 30% of the total number of Ukrainians who have arrived in Ireland since the invasion of their country.
A media release from the Helping Irish Hosts organisation stated that a survey had shown that 92% of Irish people hosting Ukrainians had a positive experience and 76% would recommend hosting to someone else, continuing: The research was presented by Helping Irish hosts and the Irish Red Cross to Oireachtas members at a briefing in Leinster House on Wednesday January 31.
